Accounting Manager, Amazon Publishing Accounting

Join Amazon Publishing Accounting to support the global growth of Amazon Publishing, a leading trade publisher focused on empowering storytellers and connecting them with readers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Guiding the accounting function for Amazon Publishing including recoupable advances, royalty calculation, content ingestion, multi-channel distribution, inter-company transactions, and marketing expenses.
• Developing, integrating, and improving accounting processes and procedures for subsidiaries while increasing controllership.
• Managing the month-end financial close and financial reporting deliverables.
• End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
• Executing judgment and ensuring the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results.
• Driving projects, providing accounting guidance, and serving as the first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
• CPA
• Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
• Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
• Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
