About the role
Join Highgate this summer for an exciting opportunity with the Select Service Accounting division as an Accounting Intern. The 2027 Accounting Internship runs for 10 weeks (June – August) at the Corporate Offices in Irving, TX. Interns work alongside experienced accounting professionals, gain exposure to real hotel financials, and develop the accounting and analytical skills needed for accurate reporting and informed business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Learn how the Accounting team functions at Highgate.
- Provide support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Assist with reviewing purchase orders for accurate GL coding.
- Support monthly financial reporting, journal entries, and P&L reviews.
- Assist with various accounting projects and initiatives.
- Multitask and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and financial information.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Finance, or a similar degree (minimum Junior status).
- Knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and reports) and PowerPoint skills.
- Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Organized and able to work accurately in a time‑efficient manner.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work onsite in Irving, TX.
Pay
$20 per hour for a 40‑hour week, for the 10‑week duration of the internship.
