Description: The Asset Management Software (AMS) Accounting team is looking for an intern to join us for Summer 2027 and gain hands-on experience supporting accounting operations within a fast-growing software business. AMS, a global leader in intelligent asset management solutions, was acquired by Siemens in August 2022 and operates as a separate global business unit within Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Based in Raleigh, NC, the intern will gain exposure to purchase-to-pay processes, account reconciliations, monthly close activities, reporting, accounting operations, and process improvement initiatives. You’ll make an impact by This internship will support the AMS Accounting team across accounts payable, expense recognition, accruals, revenue-related activities, account reconciliations, process improvement, data validation, and reporting support. The intern will also contribute to finance transformation efforts by helping document workflows, identify process gaps, and support practical digital solutions using tools such as Power BI, Power Query, KNIME, Excel, or similar analytics and automation tools. Support accounting activities such as account reconciliations, accrual preparation, expense recognition, revenue-related analysis, and ad hoc accounting projects. Assist with data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities to support financial data integrity and accurate reporting. Help develop, maintain, or enhance reporting and analytics using Power BI, Power Query, KNIME, Excel, or similar digital tools. Partner with team members to identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve documentation, and increase efficiency. Collaborate with Finance, IT, Shared Services, and business stakeholders to learn how accounting systems, data flows, and reporting platforms connect. This Is How You'll Win Us Over The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically curious, collaborative, and eager to learn in a dynamic software environment. We are looking for someone who is motivated to understand how accounting, data, systems, and technology work together to improve finance operations and support business decisions. Currently enrolled as a rising senior in an accredited four-year educational institution, preferably pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Interest in or basic exposure to Power BI, Power Query, KNIME, or similar data analytics, reporting, automation, or digital finance tools. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and comfort working with data, documentation, and financial information. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Able to work from the Raleigh office as required for team collaboration. Curiosity about finance transformation, process automation, reporting analytics, AI-enabled solutions, and continuous improvement in accounting processes. Basic understanding of how ERP systems, accounting data, and reporting tools connect, or a strong willingness to learn. Interest in collaborating across Finance, IT, Shared Services, and business teams within Siemens Smart Infrastructure and AMS.
