Accounting Intern - Richmond, VA (Summer 2027)
Myers and Stauffer LC is a certified public accounting and health and human services consulting firm specializing in audit, accounting, data management, and consulting services for government-sponsored health care programs, primarily state Medicaid agencies and the federal Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. With over 45 years of experience, we assist government clients with complex health care reimbursement and provider compliance issues, operating 21 offices and employing over 900 associates nationwide.
About the role
This internship position is on-site in our Glen Allen, VA office and may transition into a full-time direct hire role after graduation. The schedule requires 40 hours per week, with flexibility within a traditional Monday–Friday business week.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of a project or work in progress and apply knowledge gained to future projects.
- Possess and apply a solid understanding of the work environment; maintain punctuality.
- Develop a general understanding of Myers and Stauffer services.
- Respond to all inquiries and requests.
- Strive to attain goals established by direct supervisors.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients, and the firm.
- Gain proficiency in administrative programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research.
- Present a professional appearance and manner.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
- Active participation in student organizations and work experience.
