Accounting Intern - Baltimore (Summer 2027)

Myers and Stauffer LC is a certified public accounting and health and human services consulting firm, specializing in audit, accounting, data management, and consulting services to government-sponsored health care programs (primarily state Medicaid agencies and the federal Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services). Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of a project or work in progress and apply knowledge gained to future projects.
• Develop a general understanding of Myers and Stauffer services.
• Respond to all inquiries and requests.
• Strive to attain goals established by direct supervisors.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients, and the firm.
• Gain computer proficiency in administrative programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research.
• Present a professional appearance and manner.
• Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
• This position could potentially transition to a full-time direct hire after graduation.

Requirements

• Intern must be working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
• Active participation in student organizations and work experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize assignments.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Office suite.

Schedule

This position is on-site in our Owings Mills, MD office. The schedule requires 40 hours per week and is flexible within a traditional Monday to Friday business week.
