Accounting & Finance Contractor (Part-Time)

About the role

We're looking for a detail-oriented, adaptable Accounting Contractor to support a range of finance and accounting functions on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on role for someone who brings broad accounting knowledge, moves comfortably across work-streams, and wants to be a genuine contributor to a fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Help with accounts receivable and collections, including dunning process management
• Support accounts payable and credit card reconciliation
• Support month end including FP&A work (reporting and financial analysis)
• Run month-end commissions processing with accuracy and on short time-table
• Step into ad hoc tasks/projects as they arise, this role requires flexibility and a willingness to lean in where needed

Requirements

• Broad Accounting Knowledge: 4-6 years of hands-on experience across AR, AP, commissions, and FP&A
• Technical Familiarity: Experience with Xero, Rillet, or similar accounting platforms
• Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and new projects surface regularly
• Collaborative Spirit: A team-player mindset and strong communication skills across functions
• Ownership: A track record of managing workstreams independently and delivering reliably

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field
• Experience with Xero, Rillet, or similar accounting platforms
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with financial software and systems
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Your salary is dependent upon many factors, including years of experience, expertise, etc. During your first interview, you can expect to have an open conversation with your recruiter regarding your compensation expectations.
