About the Role

We are currently seeking Cooperative Education (Co-Op) Students in our Accounting and Finance teams at our Portland, Maine office. This role offers valuable experience in supporting general accounting functions, participating in month-end close activities, preparing account reconciliations and journal entries, assisting with internal and external audits, and contributing to special projects. The Co-Op position is from June 2026 to December 2026, with flexibility on duration. Ideal candidates should be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a major in Accounting or Finance, have completed their sophomore year or above, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. They should possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate a proactive, organized, and analytical approach with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges are also essential. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support general accounting functions
  • Participate in month-end close activities
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Aid in internal and external audit requirements
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Accounting & Finance Team
  • Collaborate with members of the Accounting & Finance team
  • Learn about current accounting rules and their application in financial statements

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • Completion of Sophomore year or above
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proactive, organized, and analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • A willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytical skills
  • Team player with a friendly but professional work environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
