JOB SUMMARY
Maintains accounts payable and other account funding as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform all functions with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aid office on financial paperwork reports.
- Check and approve all invoices for payment.
- Prepare invoice deduction notices as necessary.
- Answer vendor inquiries.
- Analyze vendor accounts and negotiate extended terms with vendors.
- Prepare accounts payable checks.
- Compile accounts payable reports.
- Maintain all accounts payable and account receivables files.
- Prepare analysis of accounts.
- Absorb and assist in monthly closings.
- Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain related documentation.
- Absorb and assist with special projects, as necessary.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as requested or plan with Financial Manager to be excused.
- Grow in leadership and spiritual life as outlined on current annual review.
- Represent GAP to the public in a positive, professional, and responsible manner.
- Follow agency chain of command in a responsible and supportive manner.
- Accept constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Comply with GAP Ministries and state confidentiality policy.
- Follow all parts of state contracts, Article 74, etc. for position.
- Perform other appropriate tasks as assigned by management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree, or high school diploma and 2 years bookkeeping or related experience.
- Be physically fit to perform job duties.
- Be emotionally able to display warmth and able to enjoy and be comfortable with active, often aggressive and disorganized children in an intimate, group living situation.
- Have personal attitude, conduct and standards representing those qualities and values reflected in the ministry that children can respect and emulate.
- Have the ability to stay calm in tense situations and utilize common sense and logic.
- Have a current drivers license and meet the insurability requirements of GAP Ministries.
- Have computer skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate proven ability to effectively function in a multi-faceted agency in a teamwork manner.
- Be able to respect and work cooperatively with a variety of persons, including coworkers, representatives of social service agencies, the public, volunteers, and parents of the children.
- Be organized and able to work on multiple projects.
- Positive attitude reflecting an approach style of bringing solutions not problems to the team.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
REQUIREMENTS
- Successfully pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
- This is a safety-sensitive position and GAP Ministries is an alcohol and drug-free (including marijuana) workplace and requires random drug screening to all employees to ensure enforcement of this policy.
- Successfully pass FBI fingerprint clearance and criminal history checks through the Departments of Public Safety and Economic Security, and independent background check.
- Three personal reference checks of those listed on application as well as one business reference and employment verification of last 2 years of employment.
