About the Role
The Accounting Clerk (Accounts Payable and Payroll) handles all data management and processing of vendor payments and associate payroll in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Prior bookkeeping experience preferred
- Data entry experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Knowledge of administration practices, procedures, and governing regulations in post-acute care facilities
- Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the administration department
- Proficiency in accounts payable, payroll, business office support, patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, and others
- Commitment to confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information
- Understanding and adherence to company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
- Adherence to the company’s Code of Conduct and completion of mandatory compliance training
- Dependable, regular attendance
- Strong reasoning skills and good judgment
- Ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Physical ability to lift 20 lbs from floor to waist, lift 20 lbs from waist to shoulder, lift and carry 20 lbs, and push/pull 20 lbs
Responsibilities
- Record accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Accurately reconcile accounts payable and payroll statements
- Process facility payroll accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare and verify quarterly payroll reports on time
- Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary
- Concentrate and apply reasoning skills effectively
