We are a grassroots, donor, and volunteer-fueled community nonprofit serving families in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, and Hernando counties with compassion and practical help.

About the role

Our Accounting Associate of Cash Operations will participate in supporting the Tampa Bay community through data entry work and other customer support functions as part of a larger team. This administrative role does not involve direct public interaction. Your contribution will help many in our community have a happy and hopeful holiday season.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of the donor database, including daily processing of financial gifts with a basic knowledge of Virtuous (training provided).
  • Assist with processing cash gifts, credit card gifts, and gifts given via check, plus related database cleanup.
  • Provide backup data entry support for the In-kind Team.
  • Review and comply with departmental procedures to meet company standards.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry and assist with maintenance of donor records.
  • Operate office equipment including copier, scanner, folding/inserter machine, postage meter, and shredder.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving, multitasking, prioritization, speed, accuracy, and querying/reporting skills.
  • Meet personal goals and actively contribute to team and organizational goals.
  • Support the team in other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with demonstrated proficiency in business software packages including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Clerical skills including use of an adding machine.
  • One to two years of proven experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework and communicate effectively in English.
  • Dependability, maturity, and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and diversity.
  • Ability to plan, organize work, and attend to detail.
  • Professional and diplomatic handling of job-related matters.
  • Customer service-oriented with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Hearing and speaking ability for effective oral communication.
  • Physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related stress.
  • Passion for the mission and vision of Metropolitan Ministries.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Skills

  • Advanced computer skills with software including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Problem-solving and ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay

$19.00 per hour

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM
  • Assignment dates: September 8, 2026 - January 8, 2027
