Principal Responsibilities
- Aid in day-to-day accounting operations, including transaction processing and data entry.
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting schedules.
- Help prepare basic financial reports and analyses for internal use.
- Absorb and respond to audit requests by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to senior accounting staff.
- Support ad-hoc accounting projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of accounting experience or AA Degree, including internships or entry-level roles.
- Basic understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with financial statements and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas and data organization).
- Experience or exposure to accounting software or ERP systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
