Accounting Associate

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting Associate to support our team at Anchor Management Group, experts in vertical construction and project management. The ideal candidate is responsible for day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and receipts. This role requires a strong understanding of construction billing practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external vendors/clients. The Accounting Associate will be working from the Conshohocken office.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, match with purchase orders, and ensure proper approvals.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Maintain accounts payable files and vendor records.
• Create and send customer invoices in accordance with project contracts.
• Track receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Assist with lien waivers, W-9s, and other compliance documentation as required for construction projects.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment issues.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including AP and AR reconciliations.
• Support the accounting team with special projects and audits as needed.
• General office support and administrative duties including but not limited to acquisition of business licenses, office supply orders, office maintenance scheduling.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable/payable, preferably in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of construction billing considered an asset (AIA forms, progress billing, retainage).
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
