Accounting Associate

About the Opportunity:The Accounting Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records by managing core transactional accounting functions. Reporting to the Finance Director, this position supports day-to-day accounting operations, contributing directly to the organization''s financial integrity and operational efficiency. The role involves hands-on transactional accounting, general ledger maintenance, and supports smooth month-end closing processes, making it essential to the financial health of the organization. 3. Responsibilities:• Process accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment posting, monitoring, and collection efforts• Manage accounts payable tasks such as vendor onboarding, invoice approval, payment processing, and vendor reconciliation• Post payroll reports and allocate payroll expenses by class• Assist in month-end close activities including bank and credit card reconciliations and journal entries• Maintain general ledger records for revenue, expenditures, and paid media spend• Monitor finance-related communications and escalate issues as needed• Prepare financial information for reporting and tax filings• Collaborate with Finance Director on annual budget creation and tracking• Update fiscal policies and procedures• Reconcile paid media balances and prepare refund requests• Conduct transaction research and support ad hoc financial reporting• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency• Communicate effectively to keep Finance Director informed 4. Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field; associate’s degree with relevant experience considered• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Justworks, Bill.com, and Ramp preferred• Proficiency with Google Sheets and Excel required• Highly organized with strong attention to detail• Ability to handle confidential information professionally• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with deadlines• Experience in startup or growth environments preferred• Ability to provide finance-related administrative support 5.
