Primary Purpose
Supports the Bank's accounting and finance functions through account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable processing, cash management activities, financial reporting support, and maintenance of strong internal controls.
Contributes to the accuracy and integrity of the Bank's financial records while supporting operational and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform daily reconciliation of checks issued and checks deposited, ensuring timely identification, investigation, and resolution of outstanding items.
- Prepare daily and monthly journal entries.
- Review and process accounts payable transactions, ensuring compliance with Bank policies, approval authorities, vendor management standards, and internal control requirements.
- Aid in vendor management, reviewing new or changed vendor records for completeness and accuracy.
- Process investment payments and assist in the maintenance of the Bank’s investment portfolio.
- Prepare monthly Federal Back-up withholding for submission.
- Maintain the Bank’s cash position and deposit activity.
- Aid in providing information to internal and external auditors.
- Originate, review, and release of daily wire transfers.
- Assist branches and back-office departments with inquiries.
- Participate in the monthly and year-end financial close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Other duties assigned by department management.
Job Requirements
- Strong analytical skills and a general knowledge of accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of banking software and/or ability and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using Excel for data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and lookups is preferred.
- Great interpersonal skills; commitment to exceptional service and client relationship development for internal and external clients.
- A strong competency to problem solve accurately and efficiently, organize time and resources, and set priorities to accomplish multiple duties.
- Complete required enterprise-wide training to keep current on regulatory and industry trends.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 0 – 2 years of relevant working experience in finance or accounting.
- Accounting, banking, finance, treasury, or audit experience preferred.

- Working conditions are those of an “open” office environment, which can require the ability to manage some stress such as noise level from clients, employees, and general office equipment, etc.
- Daily use of wrists, hands, and fingers to use computer, telephone, fax, copier, and general office equipment.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering information.
- Sitting for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours), standing, and walking up to 20% of work time.
