About the role
The Accounting Associate is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records, reviewing, monitoring, reconciling, and reporting on all accounts for the department. This role will actively participate in month-end closing duties and collaborate with operations, accounting departments, IT, and various other liaisons to ensure accurate financials.
Responsibilities
- Accurately maintain all assigned accounting records and perform all related accounting functions.
- Ensure that all accounting entries and reports are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
- Cook up month-end accounting activities with other departments.
- Prepare monthly GL reconciliation and monthly journal entries.
- Respond to inquiries from management, auditors, and financial statements issued.
- Support the accounting requirements for new product deployments and process enhancements.
- Weekly recording and reconciling of Cash receipts.
- Review Transaction detail to ensure capital expenditures entries meet established criteria.
- Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
- Maintain fixed assets sub-ledger and depreciation schedules.
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management and auditors.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including Capex related, prepaid and accruals.
- Determine adjustments required and prepare journal entries for related account activity.
- Update and maintain procedures related to assigned tasks.
- Complete reporting needed from internal business partners.
- Perform audit requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience required.
- 1+ years accounting experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, time management, and organization skills.
- Detail-oriented team player with ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
- SQL querying a plus.
