About the role

The Accounting Associate will be a key member of BetMGM’s finance team, heavily involved in building and maintaining new finance processes. This role supports the roll-out of new offerings into new states by partnering with business stakeholders, parent companies, and state regulators. A successful candidate will demonstrate keen attention to detail, strong finance and business instincts, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Passion for the work is essential.

This role requires weekend submissions, including some Saturday and Sunday work, with flexibility in weekday working patterns.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily finance reconciliations across multiple channels and states
• Develop a strong understanding of BetMGM’s revenue cycle and reporting process
• Assist the Revenue Accounting team in performing month-end reconciliations
• Identify reconciling financial differences and take ownership of daily investigations
• Work closely with the Business Intelligence team during variance investigations
• Collaborate with the Risk, Trading, and Customer Operations teams during investigations
• Provide support on all internal and external audit requests
• Assist the wider finance team with ad-hoc requests as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Qualified, part-qualified, or working toward a CPA
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
• Ambitious self-starter with a proactive and passionate approach to finance and business
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and explain complex information
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Familiarity with or interest in SQL and data warehouse tools (e.g., Snowflake) is a plus

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $24.42 to $31.00. Factors influencing starting pay include geography, skills, education, experience, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements

As an online gaming company, BetMGM requires compliance with state gaming regulations, including licensing obligations. Employees in this role must obtain and maintain licensure from at least one jurisdictional agency, with some positions requiring multiple licenses. Failure to meet these requirements may result in termination.

The licensing process includes comprehensive background checks covering criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification. Candidates must also comply with and support BetMGM’s responsible gambling policies, procedures, and initiatives.
