About the role
An Australian Consulting Company is seeking an Accountant to support their daily operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a professional practice, including:
- Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for various entities using Xero
- Demonstrated tax technical knowledge from education and prior experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to supervise and mentor junior Accountants
- Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns
- Provide tax advice and guidance to clients
- Manage and mentor junior staff
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
Requirements
- Experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns using Xero
- Sound understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Proven ability to mentor and train junior staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- At least 2 years of professional accounting experience

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum
