About the role
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing accounts, and supporting the finance team with audits, tax filings, and process improvements. The Senior Accountant will work closely with other departments to ensure financial operations are aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and review account analysis and support financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Assist with tax filings, including sales tax and property tax, as necessary.
- Support internal and external audits, providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements in accounting operations.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Respond to inquiries from management regarding financial data and reports.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the finance department.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA certification or in-progress certification is a plus).
- 5–10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accountant role.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with accounting software (Sage 300).
- Construction experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Pay
$90,000.00–$115,000.00; final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
