Accountant - Manufacturer - Naperville, IL

About the role

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional collaboration with C-suite executives. The Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the business unit, including month-end close activities, accounts receivable and accounts payable, cash flow monitoring, treasury-related functions, and financial reporting. This opportunity provides strong hands-on experience, high visibility within the organization, and the ability to take on increasing responsibilities as the company continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Support the Accounting Manager on day‑to‑day accounting functions
• Support the month‑end process
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
• Review AR and follow up on outstanding balances
• Review the balance sheet and P&L to ensure accounts are accurate and properly classified
• Monitor cash flow and treasury needs to ensure sufficient cash is available
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with journal entries
• Handle ad hoc accounting projects and analysis as needed
• Provide general support across the accounting function

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or other accounting credentials are a plus
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience within a manufacturing environment is required
