About the role

The Laurel Housing Authority seeks applicants for the position of ACCOUNTANT. The salary range for this position is $48,000 – 52,000.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates all accounting functions of the Housing Authority.
• Reviews and records financial transactions within established systems and procedures.
• Prepares and maintains financial statements and reports.
• Exercises independent professional judgment in solving problems within assigned work areas.
• Works through observation, periodic audits, communication, and analysis of statements and reports.

Requirements

• Knowledge of governmental and modern accounting principles, practices, and techniques of finance, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in accounting and/or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
• A valid MS driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a credit check.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical including alcohol/drug testing.
