Responsibilities

• Uses general ledger accounting software to prepare monthly financial statements and reports
• Development and compliance of accounting procedures, systems and practices
• Confirms financial reporting accuracy by monitoring revenues, expenses, analyzing variances, validating consolidation of financial data, and monitoring balance sheet accounts
• Ensure thorough and complete analysis of accounts, including verification to source documents as needed
• Reconciles general ledger accounts, prepares analyses and completes other monthly general ledger closing procedures, including consolidation
• Participate in projects and initiatives to optimize processes and deliver efficiencies within own team
• Performs special projects as assigned, including GAAP and RAP research, analysis, and implementation into all Accounting Department processes
• Work with other members of the accounting team and other teams within the company in order to clear reconciling items in an efficient and effective manner
• Record and maintain clear and accurate month end closing by following the Group closing calendar
• Assisting the department with month-end close process
• Federal Reserve Reporting, Collateral Pledge reporting and analysis
• Assist with FDICIA workflows and controls, CECL
• Assists with various Audits, Financial reporting, Leases
• Inputs Securities buys/sells transactions activity
• Maintain Policies and Procedures for Department and Processes
• Fixed Asset Monitoring, Prepaid/Accrual processing and analysis
• Daily transaction review
• Performs analytical work on securities owned by the bank
• Counterparty risk monitoring of other banks, brokers and vendors that we do business with
• Monitors assigned entities for continued policy compliance and provides management with reporting regarding the entities financial condition
• Provides the best service to our customers with innovative and creative solutions

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or 7+ years accounting experience in a financial institution
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements including US GAAP
• Must be a self-starter
• Ability to deal with time constraints and strong attention to detail
• Extended hours sitting and performing computer tasks may be required
