Accountant III
About the role
The Accountant III fosters cross-functional relationships by treating internal and external customers with courtesy and sensitivity. This position proactively seeks and completes additional responsibilities, behaves professionally, and solicits and applies constructive criticism. The role produces accurate, high-quality deliverables requiring limited review, develops tools to verify accuracy, and relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals. The Accountant III performs complex tasks independently and may lead the work of others, supporting organizational goals through quality customer service, performance improvement, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, high-quality financial deliverables with minimal review, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Develop and utilize tools to verify the accuracy of work prior to submission.
- Plan and accomplish established goals using experience and judgment.
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks independently and lead the work of others as needed.
- Support organizational goals through quality customer service, performance improvement, and teamwork.
- Demonstrate department-specific competencies as outlined in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- Minimum of 4 years of prior experience in healthcare or a related area (required).
- Grant accounting experience (preferred).
- CPA or MBA (preferred).
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Applications (required).
Work Environment
This position requires desk and computer work for the majority of the day, with frequent standing, walking, and reaching. Essential functions are listed in the department-specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

This position reports to Department Leadership.
