About the role

The Accountant II will join Ally's Regulatory Reporting team, contributing to the preparation and submission of required regulatory filings. This role involves preparing and analyzing regulatory reports, collaborating with various business units, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze assigned regulatory reports and schedules, performing analytical procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Work with multiple business lines to understand their reporting processes and requirements.
  • Partner with business line personnel to educate them on regulatory reporting requirements and assist in implementing new or revised requirements.
  • Collaborate with SEC reporting team and other internal reporting teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across reports.
  • Coordinate with business units and other regulatory reporting team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Review, update, and maintain procedures and process documentation for assigned schedules.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA (or equivalent) preferred but not required.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Experience with Workday General Ledger.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

  • Must posses strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work within deadlines.
  • Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis, and provide explanations/conclusions to management.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision while applying previous experience to execute moderately complex tasks.
  • Ability to contribute meaningfully to projects.
  • Comfortable interacting with other personnel in group or support staff from other departments; may interact with other internal and external personnel (i.e., external auditors, regulators) on specific projects or routine matters, usually under supervision.

Skills

  • Minimum Qualifications: 1+ years of relevant experience, Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CPA (or equivalent) obtained or in pursuit, 1+ year of work experience in Accounting or related field with general accounting and/or functional skills for area of expertise.

Pay

Base Pay Range: $55,000 - $95,000 USD. Annual incentive plan participation is also available.

Schedule

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.
