Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger and financial reporting process for assigned areas, including month-end and year-end closings
- Prepare journal entries for entry into the general ledger system monthly by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly and monthly basis
- Prepare monthly accruals and prepaid allocation entries
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with proper support and backup
- Analyze general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and company policy
- Analyze monthly activity with relevant operational data to provide explanatory information and/or raise questions to finance business partners
- Partner with other departments to improve efficiency and accuracy in recording transactions in general ledgers and subledgers
- Maintain a strong control environment by following best practices, standards, and procedures across all accounting activities
- Supports both internal and external financial audit requests, as well as working paper requests for annual audit
- Supports ad-hoc projects as assigned by management
- Participate in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports
- Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services
- Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Two or more years of experience with general accounting required
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable accounting system
