Job Summary
Reporting to the Plant Controller, this role supports the fixed assets accounting function. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing capital asset purchase requests, managing capital asset disposal and transfer, preparing monthly reconciliations, assisting with quarterly reviews and annual audits, and supporting internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and process all capital asset purchase requests
- Review, analyze, and process all capital asset disposal and capital asset transfer requests
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of fixed asset subledger to General Ledger balances
- Aid cross-functional teams on questions regarding corporate fixed asset policies & procedures
- Maintain fixed asset tax ledgers
- Prepare fixed asset roll forward
- Maintain and close Asset Management
- Monitor and implement fixed assets internal controls to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks
- Aid with preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts
- Organize and archive documents to support appropriate controls environment
- Support internal and external audits and Ad Hoc projects and analysis, as needed
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing setting with knowledge of fixed assets; inventory; CAPEX/OPEX
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and Accounting Systems
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex data to a wide variety of stakeholders
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and Business Intelligence reporting tools
- Ability to prioritize and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to thrive in a team-based environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Basic Education And Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- At least 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
Preferred Experience
- Accounting experience in a publicly traded manufacturing company with experience in fixed assets, inventory, month/quarter/year end close activities, and audit preparation
