Key Job Responsibilities
- Answers questions and provides accounting related information to internal and external stakeholders according to established policies and procedures
- Organizes, prepares, and updates basic financial statements, monthly and year-end journal entries, accounts, ledgers, and reports for various financial needs within an automated financial system to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions
- Prepares and/or approves financial transactions and payments
- Affords assistance with accounting and reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and reports
- Affords assistance in preparing budgets and financial projections
- Prepares and analyzes financial data, reports and records, identifies discrepancies, investigates, recommends, and implements basic solutions as needed

Compensation
The starting salary for the position is $63,000, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of experience in accounting, finance, or related role
- Experience working with complex automated accounting systems and processes
- Proficiency with Excel or other spreadsheet software
Preferred Qualifications
- General knowledge of state and federal financial policies, regulations, and processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills as well as ability to independently determine priorities
- Experience with cash management, purchasing, travel, and reimbursements
- Workday financial experience
- Experience in Higher Education
- Experience in interpreting and analyzing financial data
- Experience in preparing financial reports, spreadsheets and budgets
- Skills in developing and providing training
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and theories
Education
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
