About the role
UCT is a fast-growing sector in the world, directly impacting every semiconductor chip used in smartphones, smart cars, and AI devices. This role is crucial for the semiconductor industry and UCT's evolution with technology.
Responsibilities
- Manage/Oversee ongoing site engineering activities
- Lead Key Improvement Programs/Projects
- Apply principles of mass, momentum, and heat transfer to process and equipment design
- Support the conversion of small-scale processes into large-scale operations
- Define process requirements for NPI and new line start-ups
- Develop and implement resolutions/solutions to customer concerns
- Deploy engineering solutions including technical problem solving, work instruction issues, and other Engineering activities
- Attend key meetings on new process development, customer updates, CIP, & key qualifications
- Drive process control systems (PCS) and SPC matching efforts for key customers
- Provide technical guidance and resources for strategic and complex technical problems
- Interface with customers to develop technical roadmaps and lead projects
- Manage cost and time constraints of projects and tasks
- Ensure processes work at optimum levels, meet supply needs, and comply with regulations
- Collaborate with other specialists and engineers to monitor and improve efficiency, output, and safety
- Superior people management and leadership skills; proficiency in wet chemistry processing, semiconductor tools, critical cleaning technology, semiconductor processing, coating technologies, and CAD implementation
- Utilize project management methods for tracking projects
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Demonstrate understanding of production, engineering, and quality initiatives, safety, and quality practices
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other systems/software
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or Physics or relevant semiconductor-related degree
- Master’s or higher degree, or equivalent post-graduate education in above subjects preferred
- 6+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry
- Fluency speaking/writing/reading Mandarin
Qualifications
- Assessing processes for relevance and adequacy of engineering equipment
- Reviewing existing data (including lab analyses) to identify and interpret trends, and determine if more research or information is needed
- Designing, installing, and commissioning new production units, monitoring modifications and upgrades, and troubleshooting existing processes
- Preparing reports, flow diagrams, and charts
- Affirming the availability of raw materials and assessing the safety and environmental impact of the plant
- Managing cost and time constraints of projects and tasks
- Maintaining processes at optimal levels, ensuring the right rate and quality of output to meet supply needs
- Ensuring compliance with specified regulations
- Working collaboratively with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organization
- Superior people management and leadership skills; familiarity with wet chemistry processing, semiconductor tool consumables, semiconductor technology, critical cleaning technology, semiconductor processing, coating technologies, and CAD implementation
- High-level troubleshooting skills coupled with a hands-on approach to solving problems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated understanding of production, engineering, and quality initiatives, and safety and quality practices
