About the role
Grand Rapids State Bank is seeking an Account Services Representative to open new accounts, assist customers with account inquiries, and recommend bank products and services.
Responsibilities
- Process new accounts to expand the customer base, including checking, savings, CDs, ATM & debit cards, and safe deposit boxes.
- Open new accounts following management approval and orient new customers to bank products and services.
- Maintain accurate and current account records, including updates to customer demographics and profile changes (e.g., address, mother’s maiden name, driver’s license numbers).
- Schedule outside calls with existing customers to strengthen relationships and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Execute forms necessary to provide new products and services and record all account/customer status changes.
- Perform signature card changes, add signers to accounts, and add status codes and remarks on accounts.
- Scan signatures for new accounts and changes on re-opened/existing accounts; de-scan closed accounts.
- Oversee growth, sales, and ongoing development of debit and credit card programs, including acquiring new cardholder accounts.
- Serve as liaison between the bank and card processing agent and remain current on compliance issues and industry trends.
- Assist ATM, credit, and debit card customers by investigating and responding to questions or issues, handling fraud cases, and processing payments.
- Perform credit and debit card account maintenance and assist customers with card technology and applications.
- Balance, service, or repair ATMs, including maintaining supplies, ensuring compliance, and performing software upgrades.
- Service ATMs on weekends or after normal business hours.
- Manage the merchant portfolio by attracting new customers, maintaining merchant files, and serving as liaison between the merchant provider and customers.
- Provide service to walk-in and telephone customers, including routing calls, responding to inquiries, and resolving problems efficiently.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services and reconcile statements or perform research projects as needed.
Requirements
- Two years of previous banking experience.
Qualifications
- Two years of post-high school education preferred.
Pay
$40,000 to $50,000 annually, depending upon experience.
