About the role

We are seeking an Account Representative for our Long Island market. The Account Representative sells company products and services via telephone, internet, email, and fax. This role works in conjunction with Field Sales Representatives, Product Management, and Sales Management to increase customer penetration and sales opportunities. Success is measured by meeting defined sales objectives, performing all duties with a high ethical standard, and exceeding all customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Sell products and services offered by TTI, including product lines, AIM programs, quality, and value-added services by building relationships and tailoring the sales approach to meet customer needs.
  • Provide price and delivery quotes within customer timelines for assigned geographic territory by working with branch or corporate product managers and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing.
  • Process customer orders by entering them into the sales database, ensuring accuracy and maintaining quality expectations to avoid delays or loss of parts.
  • Expand product knowledge using resources such as product literature, factory representatives, and sales managers to discuss product options and sell TTI strengths.
  • Participate in the TTI Total Quality process by following defined policies and procedures to maintain an efficient sales cycle and reduce errors.
  • Increase customer account base by compiling lists of prospective leads and making cold calls to grow the number of new customers.
  • Provide management with sales, marketing, and market strategy information by preparing forecast and activity reports.
  • Attend sales calls with Field Sales Representatives to develop trust and strengthen customer relationships.
  • If designated as a quality representative, process and resolve discrepant issues by researching, determining resolutions, and providing disposition for nonconforming product.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education, sales, and/or customer support experience.

  • Proficiency in writing reports and professional correspondence.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and computer systems.
  • Typing speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word).

This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). To qualify, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee). Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Only candidates authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $48,000 to $60,000. This position is also eligible for a commission paid monthly, with total compensation targeted at $75,000 to $115,000. The wage range considers factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
