About the role

Reporting to the Business Development Sales Manager, the Account Representative is a proactive sales role focused on prospecting new accounts and growing existing customer accounts that are not actively managed. This position involves cold calling potential customers, engaging with existing customers, assessing needs, and providing knowledgeable support on Kendall’s products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Reach out to potential customers and house accounts to sell Galloup products using phone calls, email, and other communication methods.
  • Close sales, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to a progressive team environment.
  • Develop opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
  • Increase orders by suggesting related items or alternate products, explaining features and benefits, and reviewing customer buying history.
  • Manage estimation of quotes; answer questions about products, credit terms, warranties, and delivery expectations.
  • Actively manage pricing for customers.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and product expert teams to provide relevant marketing materials and support.
  • Act as a liaison between Kendall resources to resolve account issues, including project delays, warranty issues, and repair concerns.
  • Maintain up-to-date CRM records for accounts, contacts, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Respond promptly to incoming calls, faxes, and emails from internal and external customers.
  • Stay knowledgeable about current, new, and evolving product offerings.
  • Adhere to Kendall Group policies, procedures, and standards to maintain quality service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales, customer service, or similar relevant business experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Experience with MS Office; ability to learn new software.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Ability to sit for 8 hours a day; normal office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of inside sales experience.
  • 2+ years of wholesale distribution experience in one of The Kendall Group’s core industries.
