Job Purpose

This position exists to support Honda’s manufacturing supply chain by providing flexible parts sourcing options to Honda factories and the local supply base.

Key Accountabilities

  • Receive, monitor, and execute purchase orders, manage and analyze inventory levels, coordinate multiple supply chains via multiple transportation modes for on-time delivery to customers.
  • Manage and update pricing in systems to match quotations with customers, considering new part adds and support creativity in resolving supply chain issues as needed.
  • Manage Internal/External Relationships: Coordinate regular meetings with customers/suppliers, whether in person or virtually to build relationships, promote HTA business solutions, understand customer expectations & requirements and sensing of Supplier capabilities. Support account growth & development by seeking improvements with supply chain and cost savings and proposing to partners.
  • Financials: Update quotes regularly based on business requirements, including raw material and exchange rate changes. Lead negotiations on changes to supply routing, any expedite needs and problem resolution with suppliers, customers, and service providers. Perform monthly variance analysis on account sales activity. Create account annual budget and quarterly updates supporting overall team sales targets.
  • Business Planning: Support the on-boarding process for new projects ensuring all key criteria are met on the hand-off of projects. Review operation management processes & tools regularly for efficiency and accuracy. Support department mid-terms and annual targets with regards to sales strategy and action plan activity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Set and measure KPI target activity for suppliers and vendors to improve supply service. Investigate and identify areas for growth with suppliers and vendors that improve service or equate to a cost down. Regularly report on improvements. Escalate any issues for management awareness and support. Participate in required and recommended training for self-development and skill improvement.

Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

  • Minimum Educational Qualifications: BA/BS in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or other applicable field or adequate experience in related field
  • Minimum Experience: 2-4 years manufacturing supply chain work experience; purchasing, inventory analysis, management, procurement or supply logistics
  • Other Job-Specific Skills: Strong data calculation & analysis skills, Microsoft suite proficiency (excel, word, ppt), Excellent written & verbal communication skills, Strong project management capabilities, Basic supply chain principles familiarity (Incoterms, USMCA, International trade), People management & development skills
