Account Payable and Receivable Bookkeeper

Job Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including posting payments and customer account maintenance
  • Post checks, cash receipts, ACH transactions, interest entries, corrections and adjustments
  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  • Create and process check vouchers while ensuring proper account coding and allocations
  • Prepare checks for approval and distribute approved payments
  • Maintain vendor files, including w-9 forms and supporting documentation
  • Aid with budget tracking, expense verification and financial reporting activities
  • Process recurring accounting transactions such as prepaid expenses, depreciation, insurance entries and pool payments
  • Generate statements, revenue reports and supporting documentation for monthly reporting
  • Respond to accounting inquiries and assist with daily finance department operations
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field preferred
  • A year or more of previous bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable or accounts receivable experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations and general ledger activity
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the initiative to identify and resolve issues proactively
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills highly preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks, MIP Fund Accounting or similar accounting software preferred

Pay

Starting Pay Range is $17.00 to $23.00 an hour DOE (Depending on Experience)

Schedule

Work Schedule is day shift office hours, working Monday to Friday with evenings and weekends off
