Opportunity
The Account Manager - Surety manages a book of insurance business, providing professional, courteous service to clients, carriers, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. They support Producers and Commercial Account Managers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Service day-to-day client needs including answering phone calls, emails, and other communications related to coverage questions, policy changes, payments, cancellations, etc.
- Review bond requests to verify accuracy and request any additional supporting documents from the insured.
- Submit requests to the surety company, produce the bond in final form along with a bid transmittal letter for the insured.
- Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction.
- Create bond-ability letters for the insured as needed.
- Prepare performance/payment bonds in final form and return them to the client along with a transmittal letter, certificates of insurance, and premium invoice.
- Manage relationships with underwriters to ensure positive results for clients, and negotiate coverage with underwriters.
- Set up and maintain electronic and paper client files.
- Mentor, collaborate, and train Assistant Account Managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- P & C Insurance Producer License Required
- Surety Experience Preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Four or more years insurance brokerage or property casualty insurance experience in account management role strongly preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong reading comprehension and analysis skills
- Strong data entry skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organization and follow-up skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment
- Proficient in Word, Excel, internet utilization; and Applied EPIC Agency Management System and ERLON experience preferred but not required
