Responsibilities

  • Calling on new and existing accounts, identifying customer needs, and providing value-added solutions to address them.
  • Remaining well-informed of the market and competitive data and trends, and leveraging this information for presentations and other sales reports to drive further sales and growth.
  • Staying in close contact with your accounts, serving as a knowledgeable and trusted partner who quickly resolves issues and identifies opportunities for enhanced customer performance and effectiveness.
  • Eligible for sales incentives/sales commissions and leading the sale of capital equipment and consumable products.

Requirements

  • This early career opportunity is ideal for an individual with 2-3 years of B2B sales experience looking to break into medical device sales.
  • Compensation: $70,000 / year + commission
  • Territory: New York, New Jersey
  • Travel: An established Account Manager is able to manage travel at roughly 40%-50% with average overnight travel of 3-4 nights per month. Heavier travel is anticipated during the onboarding/ramp up time.

How you will impact SteelcoBelimed and our clients

  • Create a strategic business plan designed to achieve sales goals and increase market penetration in assigned territory.
  • Update strategic business plan to incorporate new market, customer and competitor information and trends.
  • Establish key new customer meetings and make preplanned sales presentations to existing customers.
  • Leverage thorough knowledge and understanding of territory geography to maximize customer prospecting time, allow for adequate management of current customer coverage, and minimize travel and unnecessary downtime.
  • Conduct competitive research to aid in the development of customer and product focused presentation packages for sales.
  • Review and analyze customer orders and product sales and establish an improvement plan for those that are not on target.
  • Collaborate with other SteelcoBelimed departments to ensure a timely resolution to customer issues and effective sales pursuit.
  • Create quarterly sales forecast and submit to management.
  • Prepare complete and accurate sales reports and documents as requested and within required timeframes, including monthly win/loss reports and performance metrics.
  • Create and nurture relationships with key customer team members, including personnel in Sterile Processing, Technical Services, the OR, Materials Management, Purchasing, and Biomedical Engineering, as well as with Architects, Equipment Planners, Surgeons/ Physicians, CEOs, COOs, CNOs and CFOs.
  • Work closely with Sales counterparts in Business Development and Strategic Accounts, as well as the service organization, to negotiate customer agreements across SteelcoBelimed’s full portfolio.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with SteelcoBelimed’s Service team members to build, support and strengthen the SteelcoBelimed brand in the eyes of the customer.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years’ successful sales experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Solid presentation and public speaking skills, including proper use of grammar and diction
  • General familiarity with sales documents and contracts, purchase orders, and financial spreadsheets and reports
  • Exceptional customer service skills and focus, including the ability to build strong customer partnerships characterized by mutual trust and respect
  • Ability to quickly read the business landscape and recognize the customer’s processes, functions and roles
  • Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to quickly summarize and articulate customer issues and concerns
  • Unwavering integrity and ethics, even during times of high stress and pressure
  • Action-oriented and demonstrate a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to negotiate with both the customer and SteelcoBelimed in mind
  • Effective and efficient time management skills, concentrating on the most important priorities and segmenting accounts based on potential opportunities
  • Highly adaptable to environment
  • Ability to diffuse high-tension situations comfortably
  • Applies creative solutions and ideas when confronted with a challenging situation
  • Basic understanding of organizational and institutional purchasing process requirements
