About the role
Argo Group is seeking an Account Manager for their Construction, Owners line of business. This position supports the underwriting function through customer service, processing underwriting transactions, data research, and analysis. The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering customer service excellence to internal and external partners. This role is onsite 5 days per week from our New York City, Chicago, Richmond, or Omaha office.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and process account inquiries, complex endorsement requests, and changes such as billing within established service standards.
- Utilize and follow internal guidelines, authority, and procedures to ensure accurate processing of assigned work transactions while meeting service and compliance standards.
- Conduct underwriting file analysis, including identifying forms and endorsements for policy use.
- Assist underwriters in carrying out essential duties to enhance division performance through system utilization and guideline adherence.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with underwriters, customers, and business partners to provide high-quality service.
- Set up rating, issue binders, and send out quotes on behalf of underwriters.
- Interact with brokers to assist with follow-up for underlying information, subjectivities, and account inquiries.
- Thoroughly review and analyze inspection reports, including follow-up with brokers on observations affecting coverage.
- Participate in projects and other duties as assigned.
- Attend broker visits when appropriate.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferred.
- General knowledge of commercial insurance strongly preferred.
- Ability to function effectively in a time-sensitive, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and multiple tasks.
- Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Strong oral, written, organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with agents/brokers.
- Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Minimal travel required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
Pay
- Richmond: $24.42/hr - $34.18/hr
- Albany and Chicago: $26.92/hr - $37.71/hr
- Los Angeles and New York City: $29.42/hr - $41.14/hr
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
