About the role

The Commercial Vehicle Sales Representative will promote growth while solidifying long-term retention of an existing customer base and gaining new prospects. This role has primary responsibility for managing a territory, driving revenue, profitability, new gains, and customer retention with a high sense of urgency. The position plays a key role in new sale acquisitions and accurate forecasting, demonstrating ownership, commitment, and accountability to the territory and its organizational goals.

This role requires a local presence within the North Carolina surrounding area, preferably Greensboro, to allow for onsite visits at customer sites and is not eligible for relocation.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a peer-mentor; encourage accountability, lead by example, and develop cohesion among the team while keeping the team focused on territory and business objectives.
  • Lead territory in developing and executing a comprehensive plan consistent with business objectives, ensuring the team has the authority, understanding, and resources to execute the plan.
  • Understand customer base requirements and apply value-add offerings to meet regional goals while prioritizing Axalta’s best interests.
  • Pioneer new, innovative opportunities and take on challenges that contribute to the territory’s success.
  • Maintain a balance of building strong, collaborative relationships with the sales team and customers while keeping Axalta’s interests and goals as a top priority.
  • Understand the current and future business environment and industry trends to prioritize, target, and effectively retain current customers while selling to new ones.
  • Accurately communicate the key attributes and advantages of Axalta’s products, colors, and services through designed proposals.
  • Promote adherence to Axalta’s core values and commitment to change.
  • Wear proper PPE as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of automotive coatings sales experience preferred.
  • Extensive Commercial Vehicle sales background in technical support and sales roles with a strong track record of achievement in sales and customer support.
  • Proven ability to assimilate into a local sales team while leading by example.

Skills

  • Effective written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with key contact partners to present business proposals in a multi-level sales environment.
  • Competent computer skills; proficient with SharePoint, Cognos, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to embrace change in all business aspects, including emerging industry trends, new technology, and innovative ideas to improve territory results.
  • Customer-focused, with the ability to respond quickly to resolve problems and consider how actions affect current and new business gains.
  • Sound working knowledge of Commercial Vehicle business fundamentals.
  • Ability to discuss and evaluate sales processes, front office administration, marketing, and production processes with all levels of customers.
  • Self-discipline, self-management, and the ability to maintain effective performance in unstructured and autonomous conditions.
