Job Summary
The Account Manager position at TransPerfect is responsible for developing new business relationships and serving as the first level of support to existing clients. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales and project management.
Responsibilities
- Research prospective clients through internet research, trade show lists, referrals, yellow pages, various professional directories, and personal investigation
- Create accurate data within a CRM of prospective client data including names, titles, phone numbers, addresses, and various other information
- Cold call prospective clients
- Creatively problem solve to improve current new business development strategy
- Negotiate rates and deadlines with prospective and current clients
- Educate prospective and existing clients regarding the translation process, including TransPerfect’s rates, justification for turnaround time, and competitors’ information
- Liaise with production to ensure that all jobs are handled appropriately and with keen attention to detail, resulting in a perfect product
- Consistently follow up with clients to ensure their satisfaction with delivery, quality, and customer service
- Research and understand all industries that TransPerfect markets to, including industry leaders, current events, and any other pertinent data
- Perform other special projects or duties when required
Requirements
- Interest in long-term career growth with unlimited earning and advancement potential through sales and project management
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent English communication (written and verbal) skills
- Proven sales life cycle experience – lead generation through business closing
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets
- Possesses the ability to consistently and predictably advance customer commitment on a weekly basis in order to navigate a complex and lengthy sales cycle
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and determine the relative importance/business impact of each activity
- Capability to understand market requirements; trends, dynamics, expectations, and competitive forces
- Strong customer orientation – advocates on behalf of the customer’s needs/requirements
- Develop and execute strategies to build share of customer and long-term relationships within the territory, and continually grow our customer’s understanding of TransPerfect’s product and service offerings
- Maintain on-going relationships with customers to ensure maintenance of current base as well as growth of new sales
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
