Account Manager

Position Summary

Parker Hannifin's Filtration Group is seeking an Account Manager to manage and grow sales with existing and new accounts within the OEM channels.

Responsibilities

• Proactively work with divisional management and support departments to meet customer service needs.
• Represent Parker at trade shows and professional activities.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships with OEM customers.
• Secure and maintain distribution of Parker products and agreements.
• Support the corporation's Win Strategy by actively participating in strategy development and implementation.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products.
• Keep up with internal and external training and development.
• Obtain specifications and approvals at engineering firms, major accounts, and/or distributors.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of competitive products and market activity.
• Provide regular reports on competitive activity.
• Support cross divisional and other group products with proper referrals.
• Provide product training at the distributor and customer levels.
• Motivate and provide sales direction to distributors.
• Aid in converting competitive accounts to Parker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in direct and/or distributor sales of industrial technical products.
• Filtration knowledge and experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to travel overnight 50% to 70% of time; or as required.
• Applicable product and system certification preferred.
• Proven track record of performing or exceeding performance levels.
• Based in or near a major metropolitan area in Eastern or Central time zone.
