Account Manager

About the role
The International Sales Account Manager will manage sales and account relationships for the High School Program and Work Exchange Programs, including Work & Travel, Camp Counselor, Internship, and Professional Career Training. Acting as the primary liaison for International Representatives in a specified region, the Account Manager will manage annual cooperation agreements, sales training, program marketing/development, and overall sales targets. Additionally, the Account Manager will seek out new partnerships, new markets, and develop CIEE program sales in specified countries.
The Account Manager is extremely comfortable working in Excel to analyze data and can pull from data resources for the purpose of creating customized reports, insights, and takeaways to drive increased sales. The Account Manager will assist the Director of the International Sales Team in the achievement of annual program sales goals and long-term business development objectives for all Exchanges programs.
Responsibilities
- Aggressively drive sales by actively supporting and engaging CIEE's network of International Representatives.
- Analyze recruitment trends, market conditions, and partner performance to identify growth opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor partner pipelines and proactively identify, address, and escalate issues that may impact recruitment goals or program delivery.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective partners in assigned markets.
- Research and identify new market opportunities for CIEE programs.
- Prepare and analyze sales reports and performance data to identify trends, measure outcomes, and inform market and departmental strategies.
- Identify both risks and opportunities within assigned markets and develop plans to help achieve or exceed budget targets.
- Collaborate with CIEE program and product owners to develop and execute effective market-specific sales strategies.
- Partner closely with Operations and other internal stakeholders to ensure International Representatives receive timely support and an exceptional level of service.
- Maintain current knowledge of Bridge USA regulations, industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to inform business planning and partner guidance.
- Represent CIEE professionally at webinars, conferences, partner meetings, and other recruitment-related events as needed.
- Willingness to take on new projects and duties as assigned by the Manager and Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of sales and account management experience required, preferably with international clients.
- Experience in education sales strongly preferred.
- Experience managing leads and data in CRM systems required; Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
- Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, required; advanced Excel and reporting skills strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience building credible relationships across functions and management levels.
- Experience living, studying, teaching, and/or working abroad strongly preferred.
- Ability to work across cultures and international borders.
- Comfortable learning new technology.
- Driven, ambitious, and enthusiastic to support sales in a competitive environment.
- Desire to work in a global and collaborative team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of a second language preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for conferences, partner meetings, and other business needs.
