About the Role

The Account Manager opportunity with PGL is designed for an industry expert who is responsible for servicing and developing our most dynamic and high-profile customers. This role focuses on building strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, including managers, supply chain executives, and other decision-makers, while overseeing the delivery of comprehensive logistics solutions. The Account Manager will proactively manage customer operations, anticipate needs, drive continuous improvement, and ensure successful execution of production and supply chain initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document processes and procedures to meet or exceed client specifications.
  • Train staff on proper execution of standard operating procedures.
  • Create and execute continuous improvement endeavors.
  • Align real-time planning with communication to clients and the internal team.
  • Engineer custom solutions for ever-changing industry demands.
  • Troubleshoot system errors and implement controls to prevent or identify errors proactively.
  • Customize fulfillment solutions to match the needs of clients.
  • Organize requests and open action items to confirm execution and provide timely notifications to clients.
  • Manage internal resources to execute requests effectively.
  • Coordinate delivery to customer’s stores in the local market.
  • Manage inventory and cycle count processes.
  • Responsible for daily KPI management and daily communication with the customer.

Requirements

Experience

  • Prior supervisory or management experience in logistics and fulfillment operations.
  • Inventory and production planning management experience.
  • Multi-facility warehouse management experience.
  • Experience in managing API/EDI integration endeavors.
  • Skilled in using sophisticated warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Ideally experienced in system changeover, conversion, or new system adoption.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain (preferred).
  • Business degree in management.
  • Industry-specific certifications or credentials.
  • Process expertise, including Six Sigma certification.

  • Production and Processing — raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management for effective manufacture and distribution.

  • English Language — structure and content, including spelling, grammar, and composition.
