Account Executive - OK & AR
About the role
The Account Executive serves as the face of our brand portfolio across their territory, representing every category and every brand under the FSCO umbrella. You are responsible for cultivating lasting relationships with the leading interior design firms, architects, and developers in your market, and translating those relationships into growth across fabric, wallcovering, trim, and rugs, spanning Schumacher, Patterson Flynn, Tillett Textiles, and Backdrop.
Responsibilities
- Territory Ownership
- Develop and grow sales across Schumacher, Patterson Flynn, Tillett Textiles, and Backdrop, spanning fabric, wallcovering, trim, and rugs within your geographic territory.
- Cultivate a strategic view of your territory, including the leading firms, the rising design studios, the dormant accounts ready for reactivation, new accounts, and the trade events that shape the market.
- Consistently meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans across all brands and categories, and take ownership of the execution.
- Relationship Building
- Be present in the field, including designer offices, project sites, showroom visits, industry events, designer dinners, and other related events.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with principal designers, junior staff, and back-office teams across your accounts.
- Represent FSCO at industry events and brand activations with intention, polish, and a clear point of view.
- Lead Generation and Cross-Sell
- Generate qualified leads across every brand and every category, and partner with your inside colleagues (rug specialists for Patterson Flynn, sales coordinators for Schumacher, Tillett, and Backdrop fabric, wallcovering, and trim) to bring each opportunity to close.
- Provide clear briefs, designer context, and timely follow-through so the inside team can convert.
- Identify natural cross-sell moments. Every Schumacher account is a Patterson Flynn rug opportunity, every Tillett project may be a custom rug specification, and every wallcovering install creates a trim moment. The full portfolio should be present in every conversation.
- Curation and Product Storytelling
- Curate the sample story for each account, with attention to their aesthetic, their projects, and their clients.
- Lead project shops, line shows, and in-person presentations with clarity, taste, and confidence.
- Stay deeply current on launches, collaborations, and trends across all four brands.
- Pipeline and Partnership
- Use FSCO’s CRM, sample tools, and reporting platforms with discipline, maintaining a clean and current account record.
- Partner closely with your inside team. They are your collaborators, and clear communication, mutual respect, and shared ownership are essential to the work.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and pipeline status to your Sales Manager and inside partners on a regular cadence.
Requirements
- Experience and Skills
- Three to five or more years of outside sales experience, ideally in luxury, design, or the trade.
- Multi-line or multi-category fluency, or a clear track record of mastering complex product lines.
- Proven ability to set and achieve sales goals through active relationship-building and the ability to influence the sale.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively, build account-level sales, and strategically develop new business in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Comfort with digital tools, including CRM systems (Odoo or comparable), Microsoft Office, Instagram, and email marketing platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a clear, professional, and warm presence in every interaction.
- Dependable transportation, a clean driving record, and a willingness to travel throughout your territory.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. A strong track record may matter more than credentials.
Who You Are
- A salesperson with great taste. You have a real eye for design, color, scale, and materials.
- A natural connector. You are energized by being in the field, and you take pride in cultivating new relationships and deepening existing ones.
- Polished, warm, and professional. You hold gravitas with principal designers and remain approachable with junior staff and back-office teams.
- A lead-generation mindset. You understand that a clean, well-qualified handoff to your inside partners is what wins, and you take pride in delivering opportunities that the team can convert with ease.
- Driven and positive. You bring energy and grace to every interaction.
- Self-directed, organized, and dependable. You take ownership of your calendar, your pipeline, and your follow-through.
- You light up when you walk into a beautifully designed room.
- You care about being part of something built to last. You want to grow a territory, not simply hit a quota.
