Account Executive - Field Based Sales (Nursing Education)

About the role

UWorld is the worldwide leader in online practice question banks. Since 2003, millions of students have used UWorld's products to prepare for their high-stakes exams. We are rapidly expanding and innovating, with a relentless focus on quality. The Account Executive will grow new business opportunities in the UWorld Nursing division, working with the Team Leader to expand institutional B2B business through direct outreach. The ideal candidate will be an expert relationship manager securing bulk purchase agreements and institutional purchases with universities and colleges within the New England territory.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & New Business Development (60 to 70%)
    • Source new sales opportunities through aggressive cold-calling and capitalizing on leads.
    • Prospect and build a robust sales pipeline via phone, email campaigns, trade show leads, and inbound inquiries.
    • Strategically map out potential sales opportunities within the assigned region to identify and target key institutional decision-makers.
    • Prioritize high-value meetings, conduct persuasive on-site presentations, and deliver compelling sales demos to secure new contracts.
    • Attend conferences and trade shows to network, hunt for B2B/B2C prospects, and expand market presence.
    • Forecast sales and develop creative, "out-of-the-box" sales strategies to break into untapped markets.
    • Conduct dynamic webinar presentations to student groups to drive grassroots interest and lead generation.
    • Meet and consistently exceed monthly and quarterly quotas tied to new sales revenue.
  • Account Management & Team Collaboration (30 to 40%)
    • Manage post-sale activities and provide onboarding support to ensure year-over-year retention and growth of existing relationships.
    • Work closely with the Customer Care team to process quotes and finalize sales contracts.
    • Coordinate with the marketing team to share customer takeaways, maintain accurate customer data, and document market insights.
    • Maintain meticulous records of sales activities, including notes, follow-ups, emails, and call logs in CRM.
    • Participate actively in team meetings, contribute to sales improvement initiatives, and route qualified opportunities to appropriate executives.
    • Demonstrate accountability by completing projects on time and adhering to company standards.
    • Pursue ongoing personal and professional development through meetings, educational programs, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science, marketing, communications, business, or a relevant field preferred.
  • At least five years of sales experience with a strong emphasis on outbound prospecting.
  • Proven track record as a "hunter"—demonstrated ability to uncover leads, convert prospects, and consistently exceed new business sales quotas.
  • Previous sales experience in education or publishing fields is preferred but not required.
  • Extensive experience in top-of-funnel pipeline generation, qualifying opportunities, and meticulous time management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% within the New England territory.
