Account Executive, CPA Firms
About the role
The role is for an Account Executive to build the motion of a new software solution designed to eliminate the time-consuming month-end close process for accounting firms. The position requires a strong sales background, particularly in selling to professional services buyers, and the ability to manage long, consultative sales cycles.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and build your own pipeline through outbound, network, and inbound leads
- Run discovery calls, demos, and evaluation kickoffs with firm leadership and their teams
- Manage active client evaluations — weekly syncs, implementation support, tracking toward success metrics
- Closely work with the implementation team to ensure successful client evaluations and conversion
- Feed back market insights, objections, and competitive intelligence to help refine the sales approach
Requirements
- 3–8 years of B2B sales experience with a track record of hitting quota
- Experience selling a technical product into a professional services buyer
- Comfortable with long, consultative sales cycles
- Strong communication skills, especially in writing and email
- Desire to be part of building something new rather than running a motion that already exists
Bonus
- Sold to accounting firms, CPA firms, or professional services buyers before
- Experience at a fintech or accounting software company
- Worked at an early-stage company before and had firsthand experience building a new business
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of how Meridian works, including the close process, QBO integration, and agent workflows
- Knowledge of the economics of running an accounting firm to have meaningful conversations with founders
- Ability to build relationships across the firm, including with founders, MDs, heads of tech, and controllers
Skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in using Salesforce to manage and update a sales pipeline
- Ability to handle long, complex sales cycles
- Technical knowledge of accounting software and processes

Pay
The on-target earnings (OTE) range target for the role is $240k - $320k in New York, NY (base pay is 50% of OTE). Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data.
