Remotely based role; candidate must reside in Michigan, Illinois, or Massachusetts and be within 1 hour of a major US airport. Travel: 40% (Northeastern U.S. and Canada).
About the role
Manage a portfolio of luxury travel agencies to maximize revenue and market share for IHG brands. Develop strategic global account plans and build relationships within accounts to increase opportunities, conversion, and revenue. Coordinate transient and group luxury travel requests, ensuring high service levels and client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of accounts to maximize market share and revenues.
- Assess accounts and opportunities, create account plans using the IHG template, and execute strategies to drive revenue.
- Network within accounts to identify key decision-makers and relationship opportunities.
- Collaborate with IHG hotels to design and deliver in-person events for travel agents.
- Conduct client meetings, plan and coordinate familiarization tours, and handle client queries or issues.
- Gather information on current and prospective clients to generate incremental business.
- Work with IHG hotel sales teams to support NHOPs and key hotel portfolios.
- Maintain accurate records of sales calls and ensure annual account profiles and plans are updated in sales systems.
- Monitor competitors' activities and share relevant insights with stakeholders.
- Maintain effective control of sales expenses and assist with familiarizations and entertaining as required.
- Act as a resource for hotel staff and include hotel General Managers and sales teams in sales calls.
- Report market trends to the Director of Global Luxury & Lifestyle for The Americas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Management, Business, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- 6-8 years of progressive experience in the service industry, with at least 4 years in multi-unit or corporate hotel roles.
- Strong knowledge of luxury consortia networks and agency partners across Canada and the Northeastern U.S.
- In-depth knowledge of sales principles, techniques, and IHG products, rates, and marketing programs.
- Strong client management, problem-solving, organization, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in PC/MS Office; knowledge of Salesforce is advantageous.
- Ability to develop relationships with senior management and work remotely from team members.
- Understanding of market trends and customer needs.
- Competence in resource allocation, expense control, and budget management.
- Ability to set goals, performance targets, and deliver projects on time.
Pay
$80,000.00 to $89,000.00 per year, plus bonus eligibility (as applicable).
