Account Director, Agency Development
New York City, New York – Hybrid schedule (Monday and Friday remote, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday in-office).
About the role
We are a team of ad tech experts with diverse experience across the programmatic, publisher, and agency ecosystem. The Agency Development team focuses on developing relationships with and servicing the major holding companies. As an Account Director, Agency Development, you will structure and negotiate high-profile private market deals with your buyer relationships across programmatic, digital, and linear TV teams. You will pitch the value of Magnite’s supply (across all formats), products, and solutions, as well as structure and negotiate private market deals to drive meaningful revenue for Magnite. In this role, you will generate and maintain a robust pipeline of agency-based advertiser opportunities across a specified list of accounts and establish strong relationships while demonstrating thought leadership and industry expertise to solve business problems for your clients.
Responsibilities
- Understand, build, and manage relationships with digital advertising agency buyers in the NYC market with a focus on the major holding companies.
- Actively track sales pipeline and meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Evangelize all buying techniques utilized through our programmatic infrastructure.
- Create unique and customized media plans for high-profile programmatic buyers.
- Analyze market trends and client needs to create and pitch unique/customized media plans to digital media buyers through Managed Service (direct IO) deals.
- Drive formal RFP responses for your client prospects.
- Understand new publisher inventory options and product offerings to educate and consult digital advertising agency buyers.
- Monitor partner's business results, making recommendations for improvements to increase penetration for the strategic partners.
- Work to secure, conduct, and win client prospect meetings and manage them from initiation to close deals.
- Perform other sales-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years of ad tech sales, consulting, or agency experience with large digital advertising agencies on the East Coast.
- An experienced sales hunter who can leverage their existing contacts with holding companies.
- Solid experience within the online advertising space, specifically Online Video & OTT, and programmatic selling or buying experience.
- A proven track record delivering on and exceeding revenue goals from multiple accounts.
- Experience in Excel, Google Suite, Salesforce, and Analytics Platform/Data Evaluation.
- High level of integrity, excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex products, services, and deal structures.

Pay
In New York, the base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000, in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).
