Accessories Designer - Men�s Wardrobe
Stefanini Group is hiring for an onsite position in New York, NY (205 W 39th Street, 4th Floor). W2 candidates only.
About the role
The Associate Designer will support the Men's Accessories Design team during all stages of the design process across the following categories: Men's bags, small leather goods, belts, trims, hardware, and ad hoc soft accessories projects.
Responsibilities
- Research and Trend Analysis: Collaborate with Design Director to conduct current market and vintage research via in-store shopping, periodicals, and online resources.
- Mood Boards & Presentation Prep: Collaborate with Design Director to create mood and presentation boards for milestone meetings. Partner with Design Director and Designer II to help set up visual merchandising proto displays for CFT proto round and CPV milestone meetings.
- Ideate: Work with design team to create hand sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings for men's accessories.
- Color Cads: Partner with the design team to support and facilitate the creation of color cads for all full-price bags, SLGs, and belts.
- Tech Packs Full Price Bags: Work with the Design Director to facilitate the creation of technical drawings with detailed specifications including hardware and trims for full-price and outlet men's global bags collection.
- Tech Pack SLGs: Work with the Design Director and Designer II to drive and own the technical drawings and specifications for SLGs and charms for Men's Global Accessories.
- Centric/PLM: Partner with Tech Designer to manage and facilitate the Centric/PLM data input and uploading for all Men's bags, SLGs, belts, full-price, and outlet for the full product lifecycle (proto, CPV, SMS, bulk).
- Correction Specs: Partner with Design to help create and manage the correction specs for Men's bags, SLGs, and belts full-price and outlet. Clearly communicate technical construction details and design intent through technical specs, photos, and correction pages.
- CFT Collaboration and Proto Solutions: Partner with Design Director to facilitate and drive the design revisions and problem-solving tasks necessary to navigate change requests as a result of regional feedback or leadership feedback during Proto 1 and CPV milestones.
- Prana: Partner with Studio managers, Tech Design, Merchandising, PD, Design, and Photo Studio to facilitate the creation and/or uploading of images for Prana.
- Visual Change Document: Work with the Tech Design and Merch teams to create the visual change document outlining all visual changes related to the SMS samples in preparation for the full-price global market launch.
- PD Communication: Support design and maintain daily communication with PD partners in New York and Asia to resolve technical issues and ensure corrections are clearly communicated.
- Workroom and Organization: Keep sample closets, material storage, and presentation spaces organized and orderly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accessories Design.
- 2-5 years of Accessories Design or related experience.
- Aesthetically keen eye for color, material, and innovative details.
- Exquisite sensibility to men's fashion and modern-day wardrobe.
- Acute attention to detail throughout the design process.
- Excellent note-taking ability and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and open-minded attitude.
- A sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical bag construction knowledge and capable of communicating design comments/corrections.
- Strong computer skills required. Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Excel, PLM, and other related software.
- Strong hand sketching ability is preferred.
- Knowledge of Rhino 3D and/or SolidWorks is a plus.
- Strong mock-up and handcraft ability is a plus.
