Term: September/October 2026 – June/July 2027, up to 20 hours/week at $28/hour, mainly in-person with some remote hours.

About the role

With equal focus on access initiatives and professional development, the goal of this Fellowship is to educate the next generation of leaders in the accessibility field while providing a bridge between academic research and practice at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA). This fellow will work collaboratively across departments to support accessibility initiatives, including:

  • Access Ambassadors, a job training and skills-building program for teens with developmental disabilities;
  • Passport to the Arts, which offers free programs for children, teens, and adults with disabilities and their families; and
  • Lincoln Center Moments, a performance and workshop series for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.

The Fellow will research best practices in programs and outreach for disability populations, meet with leaders in the field, contribute to ongoing projects, and complete a capstone project demonstrating innovation in program development, which will be presented to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, and support Relaxed Performances, especially welcoming for people who are neurodivergent, and Passport to the Arts, a program for children, teens, and adults with disabilities and their families.
  • Prepare for and welcome Lincoln Center Moments participants in a program designed for people with dementia and their caregivers.
  • Support staffing, registration, and correspondence with program participants for access programs.
  • Contribute to the Access Ambassador program, including in-school skill-building workshops and job coaching students during their volunteer front-of-house shifts at Lincoln Center.
  • Design, implement, and analyze audience feedback.
  • Develop new partners, programs, and supports for Access Ambassadors, Passport to the Arts, or Lincoln Center Moments.
  • Research, implement, and staff accommodations for performances.
  • Provide administrative departmental support through phone, email, and in-person at events.

Requirements

  • Current or recent graduate student in Disability Studies, Special Education, Social Work, Museum Studies/Education, or other similar programs.
  • Candidates with personal or professional experience with disability are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, nights, and weekends. Events for Passport to the Arts occur on Saturdays and Sundays.

Pay

$28.00/hour.
