Access and Surveillance Engineer

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Mount hardware (cameras, sensors, panels) and run low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial).
• Carry out routine inspections, test system hardware, and perform software/firmware updates.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues between security devices, networks, and monitoring stations.
• Program access permissions, configure Cloud / Network Video Recorders (NVRs), and map camera views.
• Instruct facility staff and security personnel on how to use access control software and monitoring interfaces.

Other Requirements

• A 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience in IP networking, low-voltage wiring, or electronic security.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and IP-based camera and cloud systems.
• Proficiency with industry-standard platforms (e.g., Avigilon, Genetec, Lenel, Axis, Ubiquiti, Verkada).
• Ability to travel frequently to field locations, including overnight trips.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to operate aerial lifts.
• Ability to work in tight spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Drivers License

Qualifications

A 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience in IP networking, low-voltage wiring, or electronic security.

Understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and IP-based camera and cloud systems.

Proficiency with industry-standard platforms (e.g., Avigilon, Genetec, Lenel, Axis, Ubiquiti, Verkada).
