Academy of Science Hourly Temp Position

About the role

The Local Health Department Academy of Science (LHD AoS) is a national initiative supporting local health departments to advance public health practice, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration. Wichita State University's Community Engagement Institute (CEI) is seeking a public health data specialist to join the LHD AoS National Librarian Team. This role combines facilitation, public health data expertise, and hands-on implementation to strengthen LHD AoS impact and sustainability nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops and webinars on public health data management and analysis
• Design and implement public health data collection surveys
• Support evaluation efforts and data-driven decision-making processes
• Develop and deliver training materials for public health professionals
• Collaborate with local health departments to enhance their data management practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, data science, library science, or related field (Master's preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in public health program management, data management, or national initiatives
• Experience with survey design and/or public health data
• Knowledge of evaluation design and data-driven decision-making
• Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00 pm. Work Schedule varies based on schedule.
