Academy Goalkeeper Coach (Part-Time)
About the Role
New York City FC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Goalkeeper Coach to join our Academy staff. Working with our U12-18 age groups, you will be responsible for supporting the development of all of our Academy goalkeepers. This role will demand a high level of off-field expertise as well as a very strong ability to design, plan, and execute on-field sessions and build individual development plans while ensuring alignment with the overarching philosophy and playing style of NYCFC and City Football Group. This role will play a pivotal part in the development of goalkeepers within our academy, fostering their technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social growth. Finally – you will also be part of the City select and scouting & recruitment of the new Goalkeepers for our incoming U12 team and any other team within the academy. Expect ad hoc requests for travelling days domestic and internationally.

What You'll Do
Training and Development
- Design, plan and deliver daily goalkeeper-specific training sessions according to the clubs Game Model and Methodology.
- Support the creation of a curriculum for the U12-18 goalkeepers in accordance with the playing style and principles of NYCFC.
- Supporting the assessment of all U12-U18 GK's in the Academy and provide detailed feedback to both staff and the players/parents.
- Utilize video analysis and modern coaching tools to enhance goalkeeper development and performance
- Ensure that every Academy goalkeeper has a clear Individual Development Plan (IDP).
- Aid in on goalkeeper scouting/ recruitment within the Academy. This will include supporting the planning and delivery of goalkeeper try-outs, clinics and camps as well as attending local and nationwide events.
Matchday Responsibilities
- Delivering to the U12-U18 Goalkeepers during matches and tournaments, including warm-ups and pre-game strategies for them.
- Support the head coaches and technical staff in match preparation when requested
- Provide in-game observations and adjustments to ensure goalkeeper development and performance.
Collaboration and Integration
- Work closely with the NYCFC Academy Goalkeeper Coach and attend/deliver as per his instruction.
- If requested, assist the first and second team goalkeeper coaches to ensure continuity and alignment in goalkeeper development.
- Collaborate with the strength and conditioning team to design fitness programs tailored to goalkeeper needs.
- Coordinate with performance coaches and medical staff on load management and injury prevention.
Administration and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of goalkeeper performance, training attendance, and progress.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Acdaemy Technical Director as requested.
- Attend staff meetings, logistics meetings and other events as required by the club.
- Complete all administration associated with the NYCFC Academy platforms (Kitman, Hudl, TAKA etc).
Requirements
- 3-5 years of youth goalkeeper coaching background/experience
- Strong teaching background
- Dual language English/Spanish is preferred
- Knowledge and know-how of Microsoft office
- Drivers license
- Strength in delivering tactically relevant on-field sessions
- Hold a relevant coaching license (e.g., UEFA B License, USSF B License, or equivalent) or a goalkeeper-specific coaching license is highly preferred
- Proven experience as a goalkeeper coach at the professional, collegiate, or elite youth level.
- Experience in combining practical on-field know how with off-field planning and assessment
- Ability to communicate effectively with players, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Passionate about player development with a commitment to NYCFC's values and philosophy.

- Competency in using analysis software particularly Hudl/Sportscode
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Additional Requirements
- Applicant must be able to comply with applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
